Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
This policy covers the Pull Start mobile game for Android and iOS (“the game”) and this website. Pull Start is made by Fat Tuna (“we”, “us”). If anything here is unclear, write to hello@fat-tuna.dev.
The short version
- You don't make an account and we never ask for your name, email, photos, contacts or location.
- Your progress and settings are saved on your device only.
- The game can send anonymous usage statistics (which screens you open, when a repair is finished, when you level up) through Google Analytics for Firebase. You can switch this off at any time in Settings → Share usage data.
- Analytics doesn't collect your device's advertising ID and sends nothing for advertising.
- This version shows no ads and sells nothing. If that ever changes, we update this policy first.
- This website has no cookies, no tracking and no analytics.
What stays on your device
The game saves these in its own app storage on your phone or tablet. They are never sent to us:
- Your save game: coins, level, energy, the jobs in progress, the furniture you bought, how far you are through the tutorial and which tips you've already seen.
- Your settings: sound, music, haptics and the “Share usage data” switch, plus the date you first opened the game.
- Two small local log files describing finished repairs and gameplay milestones (sessions, tutorial, levels), used by us when we test the game on our own devices. They contain no personal information and the game never uploads them.
Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data in your device settings, deletes all of it.
Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To learn which parts of the game are fun and where players get stuck, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service from Google. It's on by default, and you can turn it off in Settings → Share usage data. Once it's off, the game stops collecting and sends no further events.
What the game sends
Gameplay events with simple values such as a machine type, a level number or a coin amount:
| Area | Events |
|---|---|
| Screens and tutorial | screen_view, tutorial_begin, tutorial_complete, onboarding_step |
| Jobs | job_accept, job_start, job_abandon, job_hand_back, payout_collect, vip_job, review, recipe_learned, lucky_find, surprise_found, regular_recruited |
| Progress | level_up, day_start, day_end, streak_up, streak_lost, out_of_energy |
| Coins | earn_virtual_currency, spend_virtual_currency (in-game coins only; no real money is involved) |
| Daily lawn | daily_lawn_start, daily_lawn_finish, daily_lawn_leave |
Two user properties go with them: mechanic_level (your level in the game) and allow_personalized_ads, which is always false.
What Firebase adds on its own
Like any app using Firebase, the SDK also records basic technical information: a random app-instance identifier, the device model, the operating system version, the app version, language, the approximate country or region (derived from the IP address, which Google doesn't keep for this) and standard events such as the first time the app opens and session starts. See Google's list of automatically collected events.
What it doesn't do
- Collection of the Android advertising ID is switched off, and the game never asks for permission to track you on iOS, so Apple's advertising identifier stays unavailable to it.
- Consent for ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation is set to denied, and personalised-ads signals are off. On Android these defaults are built into the app, so they apply from the very first event.
- The data isn't linked to your name, email or any account, and we don't sell it or use it to build advertising profiles.
Unity
The game is built with the Unity engine. Unity's analytics, hardware statistics, engine diagnostics and crash-reporting services are all switched off in the game, so Unity receives no usage data from it.
Ads and purchases
This version of Pull Start shows no advertising and has no in-app purchases. Before any version adds either, we will update this policy and explain what changes.
Children
Pull Start is made for players of all ages, including children. We designed it to collect as little as possible: no accounts, no chat, no personal information, no advertising ID and no ads. The anonymous usage statistics described above are the only data that leaves the device, and a parent or player can turn them off in Settings → Share usage data.
We treat every player as possibly a child. The game collects no personal information from anyone, and the random app-instance identifier is used only to understand how the game itself works, never for advertising or to contact anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by email, write to hello@fat-tuna.dev and we'll delete it.
Who processes data
- Google (Google Analytics for Firebase) processes the usage statistics on our behalf. See Privacy and security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy. Google may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under its standard data-protection terms.
- App stores (Google Play, the App Store) handle downloads under their own privacy policies.
How long we keep it
Event data in Google Analytics is kept for 2 months and then deleted automatically. Aggregated reports (for example “how many players finished the tutorial”) contain no individual data and may be kept longer. Data on your device stays until you delete the game or its data.
Your rights
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws, you can ask to access, correct or delete data about you, object to or restrict its processing, and complain to your local data-protection authority. We rely on our legitimate interest in improving the game for the usage statistics, and you can object at any time by switching off Share usage data.
Because we don't know who you are, the easiest way to stop collection is that switch. To ask for deletion of statistics already sent, write to us; Firebase lets us delete data for an app-instance identifier, which we may need your help to find.
This website
pullstart.fat-tuna.dev is a plain static site. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts or fonts and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for a short time for security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, mention it in the game's release notes.
